Hip Replacement Surgery Healing Process

The healing process of hip replacement surgery is approximately 3-4 weeks. After the healing process is completed, there is no obstacle for the patients to perform movements such as squatting, crossing the legs. However, these movements should not be performed during the healing process. The movements that force the hip and the prosthesis can cause pain or cause loosening or dislocation of the prosthesis.

Patients should pay attention to drug use and physical therapy movements after discharge. Impairment or incorrect treatment of physical therapy may interfere with the healing process. Regular postoperative exercises are of great importance in this respect.

Sports After Hip Replacement Surgery

One of the points of interest for patients with total hip replacement surgery is sports. There is nothing wrong with the patients doing sports such as walking, swimming, tennis or using bicycles. However, it is recommended not to do sports such as boxing and sports that require high jump.
